Literary-cognitive event dedicated to International Mother Language Day held in Kiev

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Armenian Women’s Council of Kiev held the “The Reserve of Our Mind, The Shelter of the Soul” literary-cognitive event at Rerikh Library. As reported member of the Armenian Women’s Council of Kiev Salome Yengibaryan to Hayern Aysor, the following topics were presented to the Armenian audience in Kiev: “Mesrop Mashtots as the Founder of Armenian Scholastics”, “Armenian Language: Language of Science”, “Armenian Language: Prayer to God”, “Mother Language: The Guarantee of the Nation’s Survival” and “Armenian Language as Food for Linguistic Thinking”. The attendees also learned interesting facts and received interesting information about the Armenian language and listened to performances of Armenian folk songs and the songs of Armenian troubadours.

With the blessing of Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Ukraine, Bishop Marcos Hovhannisyan, the Library also hosted the presentation of the “Navasard” Room-Museum for Armenian Culture, which showcased domestic items, paintings, dolls made by Armenians, commemorative gifts, books and elements of Armenian national costumes. The Armenian women of Kiev, under the direction of painter/designer Tatevik Khachatryan, had created a corner where every object, ornament, book or image conveyed the air of Armenia and the Armenians and reminded everyone of their homeland.
