His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians has declared the year 2018 as the Year of Youth.

From February 19 to 20, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin hosted the meeting of the organizing group in charge of implementing the plan to declare the year as the Year of Youth with the motto “Towards the Homeland, Towards Holy Etchmiadzin”. The meeting was chaired by spiritual representative of the Youth Union of the Armenian Church, His Grace, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

As reported the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to Hayern Aysor, among the participants of the meeting were Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Romania, His Grace, Bishop Tatev Hakobyan; representative of the U.S. Western Diocese, His Beatitude, Priest Avetis Abovyan; Director of the Central Headquarters of the Youth Union of the Armenian Church Gevorg Mkrtchyan; representative of the Youth Council of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan Vardan Poghosyan and the members of the task force of the Central Headquarters of the Youth Union of the Armenian Church.

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues on organizing the events to be held on 4-8 July as part of the Year of Youth events.
