First fruits of Armenian-Swiss friendship
During the official visit of President of the National Council of Switzerland Dominique de Buman, the Development Foundation of Armenia is hosting the Armenia-Switzerland Business Forum, which has gathered nearly 3 dozens of businessmen from Armenia and Switzerland.
Among them are Swiss entrepreneurs doing business in Armenia and those who are interested in doing business.
The participants of the Armenia-Switzerland Business Forum mainly represent the drug industry, IT, finance, winemaking, tourism and transport.
The new production unit of a salt factory opened in Yerevan this morning. It is equipped with Swiss equipment and, it is safe to say that it is one of the first outcomes of the Prime Minister’s visit to Davos.
During his meetings at the recent Global Economic Forum, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan discussed economic development issues, including in the spheres of agriculture and industrial equipment. Today, President of the National Council of Switzerland Dominique de Buman is recapping the results of the discussions in Davos during his official visit to Yerevan.
“Setting aside the three major sectors, particularly industrial equipment, the new production unit of a salt factory opened in Yerevan this morning. The industrial equipment was brought from Switzerland. It is not only a new industry, but will also help create new jobs.”
Armenia and Switzerland have also achieved quite a lot of success in the solar energy sector. Member of the executive board of Solar Spar Andreas Dreisiebner is also quite optimistic about investments in Armenia.
“Investments of new technologies are being made in both Armenia and Switzerland, and it is safe to say that the investments in Armenia are leading to greater outcomes than in Switzerland.”
“Of course, Switzerland is a major country for Armenia in the context of relations and business models, but Armenia also has a lot to present to and offer its Swiss partners,” Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Vache Gabrielyan assured.
