Importance was attached to continuity of efforts for integration of Syrian-Armenians and Iraqi-Armenians

On January 24, within the scope of the consultations that Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan is holding with representatives of the Ministry’s structural subdivisions, the Minister chaired a consultation with employees of the Department for Armenian Communities of the Near East and Middle East. Among the participants was Chief of Staff Firdus Zakaryan.

Head of Department L. Antonyan presented the activities carried out for the integration of Syrian-Armenians and Iraqi-Armenians in Armenia in 2017 and the achievements and touched upon this year’s programs and future actions.

The Minister attached importance to the priority to meet the overriding objectives in 2018, the continuity of efforts for the integration of Syrian-Armenians and Iraqi-Armenians and the ensuring of active participation of the young Armenians of the countries of the region in the “Ari Tun” Program, the “Diaspora” Summer School Program and the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival. The Minister also highlighted the need for creating networks of professionals in the region and expanding the already existing networks.
