New and unique song “Western Armenia” now available online (video)

Tar player Mikayel Voskanyan has presented the song “Western Armenia” composed by Khachik Yeghoyan and musically arranged by Vahan Nahapetyan. The song is available on Youtube.
“I had been thinking about Western Armenia for a long time and shared my thoughts with musical arranger Vahan Nahapetyan. Recently, I would listen to Mikayel Voskanyan’s performances a lot. I came up with the idea of composing a song just for him, and Mikayel gladly performed the song,” Director of Yeghoyan Production Khachik Yeghoyan stated.
In 2015, Yeghoyan visited Western Armenia to take photos of the local churches within the framework of the “100 Doors” Project dedicated to the 100th year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. During preparations for the photo exhibition, Khachik Yeghoyan would listen to Mikayel Voskanyan’s music, and on the day of the exhibition, he showed a short documentary featuring Voskanyan’s music.
“It was as if his tar was part of my emotional experience on the lost lands of Western Armenia. When it was already decided that my song was going to be performed with the tar, our lands and churches flashed in front of my eyes and I created the title of the song. I hope the music video for the song is produced on those lands,” Khachik Yeghoyan added in an interview with irates.am.
