Pope Francis delivered a traditional Sunday sermon at the Vatican on Christmas Eve.

The pontiff asked for “the gift of peace for the whole world”. Pope Francis stated that he is intensifying his prayers for those suffering because of armed conflicts.

At midnight, Pope Francis served a Christmas liturgy at St. Peter’s Basilica during which he addressed the Catholic World with a traditional Christmas message, calling on all Catholics to release all kidnapped people, including clergymen.
