Artsakh’s young pianist wins Grand Prize at international competition-festival

On October 22, young pianist Anahit Arushanyan from Stepanakert participated in the annual Spanish international Stars at Tenerife competition-festival held on the Canary Islands and received the Grand Prize.

In an interview with Artsakhpress, Anahit Arushanyan, who is in her first year of studies at Long Island Conservatory in New York, said she was participating in the festival along with representatives of 26 countries.

“I performed the works of Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Bizet and Brahms and am very glad that I received such a high evaluation for my performances,” Arushanyan said, adding that she received not only the Grand Prize, but also invitations to participate in two other competition-festivals.

According to Arushanyan, the first competition-festival is scheduled for 3-7 January in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg where the Savshinsky International Competition-Festival will be held, followed by the second competition-festival to be held in April in Baden-Württemberg.
