Saint Petersburg hosts event/presentation devoted to tourist attractions in Armenia and Artsakh
On October 12, one of the halls of Lote Plaza Hotel in Saint Petersburg hosted the “OK Армения” event/presentation devoted to the tourist attractions in Armenia and Artsakh. The event/presentation was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Russia and the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Saint Petersburg.
As reported the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor, among the attendees were Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan, who is on an official visit to Saint Petersburg, as well as RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Vardan Toghanyan, RA Consul General in Saint Petersburg Hrayr Karapetyan, representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saint Petersburg Vladimir Zapevalov, Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Government of Saint Petersburg Yevgeny Grigorev, Deputy Head of the Tourism Committee of Saint Petersburg Nana Gvichia, representatives of nearly 90 travel agencies, hotel complexes and tourism information agencies, diplomats accredited to Saint Petersburg and others.
RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation Vardan Toghanyan delivered his opening remarks at the event. Greeting the attendees, the Ambassador stated that such events further deepen the relations between Armenia and Russia in the tourism sector and provide the largest companies, in this case travel agencies of the northern capital of the Russian Federation, with the opportunity to become more familiar with the tourism sector and the historical and cultural values of Armenia and Artsakh.
Throughout the event, the guests had the opportunity to listen to Armenian music, watch Armenian dances and taste Armenian dishes and alcoholic drinks.
This was followed by a master painting class during which the guests had the chance to paint and receive a replica of Martiros Saryan’s painting called “Geghama Mountains”.
The presentation featured a speech by corporate tourism expert, the event’s co-organizer Gaiane Kocharyan, who held a draw for package deals to hotels and resorts in Armenia at the end of the event/presentation.
