Turkish actress considers film “Caravan 1915” a message of peace
Ayşe Akin, the leading actress in the Armenian Genocide film “Caravan 1915”, has talked about the film and addressed the reasons behind its removal from the box office.
Akin informed that the film conveys the message of peace and needs to be supported, not modeled.
The actress says she plays the role of an Armenian woman and the film is a love story of the main character and a Turk stableman, who doesn’t want to let his love go by any means. Akin states that she will be very sad for Turkey, if foreigners acknowledge the film.
According to Akin, the main reason for the attitude towards, hindrances to and censure of the film is that each scene of the film conveys a message.
Let us remind that the film was removed from the box office upon the decision of the film’s director and screenwriter Ismayil Gyunes briefly after it went on the big screen.
The director stated that he had taken this decision due to the problems with distribution of the film and the bias of movie theaters.
Let us mention that the film director’s descriptions show that they are based on the Turks’ viewpoint on the Armenian Genocide. The director presents the Armenian Genocide as deportation for which the government spent 256 million Kurush, writes ermenihaber.am.
