Event dedicated to 650th anniversary of official recognition of Polish-Armenian Diocese held and Holy Mass served in Warsaw

On October 14, Holy Translators’ Day, at the initiative of Pastor of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church in Poland, Archimandrite Tatchat Tsaturyan, Warsaw hosted an event dedicated to the 650th anniversary of official recognition of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Poland by Great King Kazimir III of Poland. Among the attendees were Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Poland Edgar Ghazaryan; representatives of the Catholic and Orthodox Churches of Poland; professors of the Cardinal Stefan Vishinsky University of Warsaw; several Armenians and Polish guests, as well as Armenian pilgrims from France, Belgium and Ukraine.

As reported the spiritual pastorship of the Armenians of Poland of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church to Hayern Aysor, the event began with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the reading of the patriarchal writ of blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians on the occasion of the 650th anniversary of the Armenian Diocese of Poland.

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Prof. Fr. Yousef Naumovich delivered a lecture entitled “Historical Background of the Foundation of the Diocese of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church in Poland”.

The anniversary event continued with a concert that featured performances of Armenian spiritual and national songs by Tsaghkazard Choir of the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church, as well as performances of the famous works of Komitas and Khachaturian by violinist Gaiane Koninyan (France), pianists Yacoub Kitovsky (Poland), Joanna Gronkovska (Poland), Zofia Mikhalovich (Poland) and soloist Aida Harutyunyan (France).

The concert was followed by the presentation of the books “Book of Tragedies” by Saint Gregory of Narek and “The Massacres of Christians in Armenia” republished in Polish.

Afterwards, Pastor of the Armenians of Poland, Archimandrite Tatchat Tsaturyan conveyed his pontifical message in which he called on the Armenians of Poland to educate and raise a generation of pious, patriotic and nation-loving Armenians, asking the Lord for peace and stability for the Armenian State, Church and the entire nation through the intercession of the Holy Translators.

Fr. Tatchat also granted writs of appreciation and blessing and certificates of gratitude to certain devoted Armenians as appreciation of their keenness towards the spiritual pastorship of the Armenians of Poland.

At the end, the attendees were invited to an official banquet.

The next day, on October 15, Tsaghkazard Choir performed a Holy Mass in four voices in Poland. The Holy Mass was served by Pastor of the Armenians of Poland, Archimandrite Tatchat Tsaturyan.
