Real patriotism is living on the native land

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Chief Representative of the Special Educational Needs Unit of Lebanon’s Holy Cross-Harboyan High School Sevag Hagopian, Coordinator Lara Goudouzian, Advisor Christine Der-Sarkisian, psychomotor formation specialist Natalie Avesian and orthoepy specialist Jennifer Abetian.
The Minister cordially greeted the guests, expressed gratitude for responding to the “What are YOU doing for Artsakh?” pan-Armenian movement and highly appreciated the fact that the School had helped Director of Vardan Minasyan Primary School #2 of Martakert Melsida Kardumyan and teachers Lusine Saiyan and Ruzanna Avetisyan participate in the one-week inclusive education course hosted at Holy Cross-Harboyan High School in Beirut. “Your latest initiative simply made me feel admiration and made me realize that Armenian schools of the Diaspora support Armenian schools of Artsakh and convey strength and power to the people of Artsakh. By sharing your experience and skills, you make them feel confident and determined to stand strongly on their land.”
Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception and appreciation, Sevag Hagopian stated that real patriotism is living on the native land and that Diaspora Armenians need to do everything they can to support those who turn the land into a homeland. He presented the activities of the School and stated that the Holy Cross-Harboyan High School of the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate was established in 1987 in the Zalka suburb of Metni region of Mountainous Lebanon. In the 2016-17 Academic Year, the School had 500 pupils. Over the past years, the School has created new units, built all the buildings and technical structures required for education and approved the Bachelor’s Program for an academic school with its various units. Sevag Hagopian attached importance to the School’s motto which has become a benchmark for the School, and that is the following: “Send your 2-year-old child to us, and we will give back an educated Christian Armenian when your child turns 18”.
Issues related to the education of the Armenians of Lebanon were considered.
