History and role of Armenians of Poland’s Zamość to be presented

On August 22, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Poland Edgar Ghazaryan paid a working visit to the Polish city of Zamość where he had a meeting with Mayor of Zamość Anjey Vnuk.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon the perspectives of deepening of decentralized cooperation in Armenian-Polish relations and pinpointed the steps to be taken in that direction. In this context, the sides emphasized the importance of the process initiated for decentralized cooperation between Zamość and Dilijan and the corresponding reciprocal visits.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted the major role that the Armenian community of Poland plays as a bridge fostering the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations in various sectors. Ambassador Ghazaryan and Mayor Vnuk reached an agreement on organizing “Armenian Day” events in the city of Zamość on the sidelines of the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Poland and Armenia and to the 650th anniversary of the privilege granted to the Armenian community in Poland. During the “Armenian Day” events, the history and role of the Armenians in the historic city of Poland will be presented.
