Film night under a starry sky near Haghartsin Monastery

A starry night, forested mountains and a shiny moon…The films advocating spiritual values (humanism, faith, hope, love, peace and patriotism) are being shown successively on the wall of Haghartsin Monastery. There is no need to say or discuss anything…

It was in this mystic environment that the organizers of FRESCO International Film Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual-Moral Films projected the films on the wall of Haghartsin Monastery on August 11 and 12.

According to Hayern Aysor, this is the second time FRESCO is being hosted by the organizers of the Week of Haghartsin Spiritual and Cultural Festival of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Tavush region. The award-winning films of the previous years were shown through the “Ahead of the FRESCO Festival” Program.

The goal of this international event is to foster the reestablishment and strengthening of the high values of love, solidarity and humanitarianism through spiritual and cultural dialogue.

Primate of the Tavush Diocese, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan wished FRESCO success and stated that advocating spiritual and moral values through modern art is especially important now.

The organizers of the festival expressed gratitude to FRESCO’s correspondent, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan for the opportunity and for supporting the festival and stated that they are becoming convinced that the festival must definitely be held in all the places of Armenia where there are churches and monasteries, ancient frescoes and cross-stones and testimonies of the powerful faith of the Armenian nation.

This year, the FRESCO International Film Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual-Moral Films will kick off on August 25 near Swan Lake and will end on September 3. The festival will feature film screenings and discussions, concerts, photo exhibitions, master classes and a camping event. Entrance will be free for all the events.
