Ambassador Sahakyan meets with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On December 6, Armenia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Ara Sahakyan had a meeting with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasem-Zhomart Tokayev.

The Speaker of the Senate greeted Armenia’s Ambassador on the occasion of assuming his diplomatic mission and wished him success.

The sides attached importance to the development of inter-parliamentary relations and recorded the fruitful cooperation between Kazakh and Armenian parliamentarians within international formats, particularly the parliamentary assemblies of the CIS, the CSTO and the OSCE. The RA Ambassador emphasized the desire of the two countries’ governments to include more items on the agenda of bilateral cooperation and lay broader juridical-contractual foundations.

The sides touched upon Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. K. Z. Tokayev positively assessed Armenia’s decision to join the CU, promising the Kazakh Parliament’s support to end the procedures required for accession.
