Organizers of 10th Pan-Homenetmen Games visit RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Hrachya Rostomya received representatives of the Armenian General Athletic Union (Homenetmen) led by Chairman of the AGAU Central Committee Karnig Meguerditchian, reported the press service of the Ministry to Hayern Aysor.
The Minister greeted the guests and stated that the Pan-Homenetmen Games also have their fixed place among the pan-Armenian athletic events that are organized in the Republic of Armenia.
“Yerevan has gathered several young Diaspora Armenians for whom the time spent in the homeland will be not only a test of their strengths in sports, but can also become a good opportunity for them to recognize the homeland and become friends with their peers,” the Minister said and added the following: “The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia will do everything it can to make sure the Games are held at a high level.”
Chairman of the Homenetmen Central Committee Karnig Meguerditchian expressed gratitude to the Minister for the support and stated that the Ministry also helped gather nearly 1,300 participants in the homeland to participate in the Games. “The national sports federations, the directors of athletic organizations and everyone else are helping make the 10th Pan-Homenetmen Games a success in Armenia,” he said and informed that the Games are dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Homenetmen movement.
Let us mention that the 10th Pan-Homenetmen Games have gathered athletes of Homenetmen’s 21 chapters in 19 countries. The participants are between the ages of 14 and 25 and will be competing in soccer, basketball, volleyball, footzal, tennis, athletics, table tennis, swimming and chess.
The Games were officially launched on July 22 and will end on July 29.
