Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Arman Tatoyan has had a phone conversation with the Representative of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights in regard to the July 20-22 bombardments by Azerbaijani troops of the borderline villages of Tavush region.
The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia report that Arman Tatoyan has expressed concern over the fact that Azerbaijani troops are targeting civilians and their properties, bombarding the homes, schools and kindergartens of the villages, especially at daytime when it is more likely to cause harm to the life and health of peaceful civilians.
The Human Rights Defender stated that the international community must publicly condemn the bombardments targeted at civilians.
According to an agreement between the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia and the Office of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, the data regarding the latest bombardments of the borderline Chinari and Barekamavan villages of Tavush region and their consequences will be summed up and presented to the Commissioner under a special principle.
