Special film production workshop kicks off at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in Stepanakert
TUMO Center for Creative Technologies in Stepanakert has launched a special filmmaking workshop that is being hosted by film director Jivan Avetisyan from Artsakh.
Over the next three weeks, the filmmaker and the students will be shooting three films. During the first week, the students were introduced to the basics of cinema and editing, selected heroes of films and drew up scenarios. They started shooting the main scenes during the second week.
“The children had prepared for the shootings better than I had expected. I was expecting the course to be a success, but they showed me more than what I had expected. The team and all the participants of the course knew what they were doing,” Jivan Avetisyan said, stating that the cameramen especially worked at a rapid pace.
Let us also emphasize that the hero of the first film is founder of Nreni store in Stepanakert Armond Tahmazian, who has moved to Artsakh from the Islamic Republic of Iran. In his speech, Tahmazian stated that he owed it to the upbringing that his family had provided. His family had instilled in him the love for the homeland, especially the idea of living in the homeland and helping it grow. Armond believes the field in Artsakh is broad.
Touching upon the film shootings, Armond also said he is not skeptical about the children’s works since he is certain that the new generation is quite developed. “I am happy to be working with the team. Jivan is quite a good and professional filmmaker. Their work motivates me,” the hero of the film concluded.
This week, the students of TUMO Center will continue shooting the other films. Next week, they will start editing. The results will be presented during the presentation to be held at the end of the workshop.
