Armenian mother and child receive award in Germany

Germany-based Mary Sarikyan and her child recently received the Best Agenda of a Mother Award at the School for Parents in Manheim.
Sarikyan had the opportunity to carry out a program with a group of specialists for mothers and children in Germany and Yerevan. Currently, Mary and her 7-month-old daughter Emily are in Armenia and will be participating in a charity event to be held at LOFT Center on July 21 at 15:00.
Mary says she started attending the school for parents during her pregnancy and has participated in various courses on how to breastfeed a child, preparatory courses for childbirth, how to start giving additional food, a course for post-natal recovery and yoga for pregnant women.
In the first stage, the task for mothers of different nationalities was to write a beautiful story about how they felt after becoming a mother.
The contest has two categories (Best Agenda of a Mother and Funniest Story). The famous Emily & Mommy won in the Best Agenda of a Mother category. “First, we were among the top 10, and in the final stage, we had to present how we can maintain the balance of the relations between mothers, women and the outside world. There were mothers of different nationalities, and this makes my victory more than just a victory since our story was actually the best out of the stories presented by the mothers from different countries,” she stated.
Mary moved to Germany two years ago. When she arrived in Germany, she started learning German and spoke in German at the contest. “After taking German language courses for eight months, I took an exam and received a C2 level certificate, which is considered the highest level. When what you have to say is sincere and comes from your heart, language can never be an obstacle. I felt happy and proud after winning.”
The Armenian mother has presented her and Emily’s agenda through several programs at the school for parents in Manheim in an attempt to help mothers organize their day and their children’s day the right way. “The first seminars sparked great reactions. Mothers liked them, and this gave me the opportunity to participate in new programs.”
During this period, she has received an offer from the Focus On Children Now NGO to organize a joint event in Armenia as well. The goal of the program is to help mothers organize their and their children’s days effectively, overcome the stages of adaptation to a new life after childbirth and discover the secret of the balance in the woman/mother/outside world relationship. “During the seminar, I will try to share my knowledge and experience with young Armenian mothers and present the best mix of German and Armenian approaches. I will talk about how mothers can maintain the balance in all sectors of life, that is, how they can live fully even after childbirth. Since the program is a charity program, there will also be donations to help children. Due to lack of time, unfortunately, the seminar will only be held for one day. So, I call on all mothers and future mothers to not miss the opportunity to become a part of this wonderful event along with their children.”
