Upcoming Armenian duduk festival in France to spark more interest in Armenian duduk

A festival of the Armenian duduk will be held for the first time ever in France this year.

This is what Director of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Secondary Music School Martun Kostandyan said during a June 26 press conference.

“Thanks to our compatriot Levon Zatikyan, three duduk classrooms were set up at the three conservatories in France ten years ago, and the festival is being held on this occasion,” Kostandyan stated, according to Armenpress.

Kostandyan added that the festival would feature performances by the students of the School. They will be joined by masters of the duduk, who will give master classes.

The festival is being held as part of the Armenian-French Children’s Orchestra’s upcoming concert tour in France.
