2nd stage of “Ari Tun” Program kicks off

On June 26, the 2nd stage of the 2017 “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora for young Diaspora Armenians’ homeland recognition kicked off with a solemn opening ceremony held at the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan greeted the participants and guests and particularly stated the following: “Welcome home, to your home, to your homeland, to your Armenia. I am glad that you will be enjoying your stay in the Homeland, going sightseeing and will be seeing and understanding all that you have heard about Armenia. You will know about Armenia and the homeland that your ancestors have protected and maintained. We need to empower and enhance that homeland and transmit it to the generations. Each of you must work hard to become the best citizen in his or her respective country, meaning a good person, a good specialist and a good Armenian. You are Armenian. You are from Armenia and were simply born abroad. Your place is Armenia where you will return sooner or later. Welcome!”

The participants expressed gratitude to the Minister of Diaspora and the organizers of the program for providing them with the wonderful opportunity to be in the Homeland, learn Armenian and interact with their peers. The participants recited poems, sang songs and danced together.

The 2nd stage of the Program is being held with the participation of 109 young Armenians from 8 countries, including the Russian Federation (22 participants), Ukraine, (1), Belarus (2), Uzbekistan (2), Georgia (59), the USA (3), France (1) and Hungary (7).
