Year-end concert held at Armenian Sunday school in Reutov

May 28th marked the year-end concert for the 2016-17 Academic Year at the Armenian Sunday school in the city of Reutov. It was a very important day not only for the children, but also all the representatives of the Armenian community since it was first and foremost devoted to the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia, the Armenian alphabet day and the end of the academic year.

As reported schoolteacher Anahit Lagzyan to Hayern Aysor, the Armenian Sunday school in Reutov pays special attention to Armenian upbringing and the conditions for living as Armenians and preserving the Armenian identity. By saying “patriotism”, the students of the school know that they must first respect the soldiers of the Armenian Army.

The May 28 event began with the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia underneath the Armenian tricolor flag. The first part of the concert was devoted to patriotism, followed by Armenian alphabet ceremony during which the children recited the works of Armenian writers.

The songs performed during the event were devoted to the Armenian Army and Armenian soldiers. The performances of the Armenian dances “Tavigh” and “Shoror”, as well as the traditional “Kochari” Armenian dance received warm rounds of applause from the audience.

At the end, head of the Armenian community of Reutov and the school’s principal V. Basentsyan handed certificates of appreciation over to the progressive students, teachers, as well as the parents actively participating in community life.
