On June 22, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan visited the Public Radio of Armenia where she met with newly appointed Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia Mark Grigoryan. Among the participants of the meeting were Deputy Director Lilit Tumanyan and Editor-in-Chief of the Public Programs Department of the Public Radio of Armenia Ruzan Arakelyan. The meeting was held in the newly created hall for meetings, and Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan became the first guest to be hosted in the hall.
Attaching importance to the Public Radio’s activities aimed at expanding and shedding light on the partnership between Armenia and the Diaspora, Hranush Hakobyan expressed her satisfaction with the Radio’s administration and particularly stated the following: “The Public Radio of Armenia best implements several programs devoted to the RA Ministry of Diaspora and the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, including the series of programs such as “Kamurj” (Bridge), the “Haykakan Gaghtojakhner” (Armenian Communities of the Diaspora), “Spyurqi Dzayn” (Voice of the Diaspora), “Hayrenadardzutyun” (Repatriation), the “Patmakan Hayreniq” (Historic Homeland), the “Gerdastanner” (Families) and the “Haykakan Hetq” (Armenian Trace). Today, preservation and dissemination of the Armenian language has become a priority for all Armenians around the world and serves as a major factor for national unity. In that sense, broadcasting a program series in Western Armenian on the Public Radio is also a priority.”
Editor-in-Chief of the Public Radio’s Public Programs Department Ruzan Arakelyan stated that the Public Radio would soon organize online interviews with Diaspora Armenian intellectuals and political figures through the “Kamurj” program.
The opportunities for cooperation between the Public Radio and Armenian radio stations abroad, the new perspectives for the Armenia-Diaspora partnership and the issues on providing wider coverage of the partnership were considered during the meeting.
