ARMENIAN EVANGELICAL CHURCH
Established on July 1, 1846 in Constantinople, the Armenian Evangelical Church has provided religious, educational, disciplinary, spiritual, evangelical and benevolent services.
Armenian Evangelical communities were active in Armenia from 1918 to the 1930s.
On June 7, 1918, the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) was established, along with other active Armenian organizations in the United States. In October 1991, the AMAA opened its office in Yerevan and branches in different cities across the country.
The Armenian Evangelical World Council was established in 1978 and includes all Armenian Evangelical Churches around the world.
In 1989, the council of the Association of Armenian Evangelical Churches in France established the Hope for Armenia (HA) organization, the goal of which is to assist in the recovery of earthquake-devastated regions and support those in need.
Starting from July 1, 1994, the Armenian Evangelical Church was officially re-registered in Armenia as the Evangelical Church of Armenia, the council of which is headed by general services provided by the Armenian Evangelical Churches of Armenia.
The representative of the Armenian Evangelical World Council, the Armenian Missionary Association and Hope for Armenia organization in Armenia is the Reverend, Dr. Rene Levonian.
