Exhibition of Suren Safaryan’s graphic works to be opened

An exhibition of works dedicated to the 90th anniversary of People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Suren Safaryan will be opened at the National Gallery of Armenia on November 29 at 15:00.
With his achievements, Suren Safaryan has conveyed the right air and spirit of the era. The painter, who has believed in the great ideas of the time and is well aware of the different schools, directions and the masterpieces in fine arts around the world, has expanded the borders of perception of realism by creating unique and modern art.
Safaryan came on to the Armenian art scene as a master of paintings with themes, composition, genres, portraits reflecting psychology and the collective and lyrical images.
The artist has created paintings and print graphics and has stood out with his various, unique techniques. The painter attaches importance to the series of foreign paintings, sketches and etudes. The graphic arts portraying the locality and describing the plasticity of the drawing portray the scenes of Budapest, Nadmarosh and Bologna, buildings, monuments and bridges, as well as humans that leave the impression of animals.
Most of the nearly 50 sketches in the collection of the painter’s family are being showcased for the first time ever. The chamber retrospective exhibition covers all the significant stages of the artist’s career.
