RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan receives Head of Office of UN World Food Programme in Armenia Maria Lukyanova

On November 27, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Head of Office of the United Nations World Food Programme in Armenia Maria Lukyanova. Head of the task force in charge of Syrian-Armenians’ issues, Chief of Staff of the RA Ministry of Diaspora Firdus Zakaryan and President of the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues NGO Lena Haladjian also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the issues of food assistance raised by the Syrian-Armenians.

The minister particularly mentioned that the Syrian-Armenians have expressed their gratitude and concerns since the very first day that the program was launched.

The minister also said any kind of assistance is acceptable and appreciable. Nevertheless, she deemed it necessary to take into consideration the opinions of all Syrian-Armenians being provided with assistance and make changes to the program to increase the amount of food that is in high demand.

Head of Office of the United Nations World Food Programme in Armenia Maria Lukyanova mentioned that from now on, the Office will be more consistent with the implementation of the program and expressed willingness to discuss the minister’s suggestions to make changes to the program.
