Event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide held in Nijmegen

The Unified Armenians in Holland Union of Nijmegen also joined the events dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide with concerts, lectures, demonstrations, film screenings, etc.
As reported Hayern Aysor, on April 30, the Unified Armenians in Holland Union organized a concert in commemoration of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Throughout the past 102 years, millions of people and dozens of countries have recognized the Armenian Genocide, but the Armenian people continue to demand acknowledgement and recognition of the Armenian Genocide from other countries and particularly Turkey.
By canonizing the 1.5 million victims, we Armenians will continue to stand up for our rights and demand restitution for the physical, cultural and material genocide committed against the Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire.
Every April 24th, the Unified Armenians in Holland Union, which is an educational and cultural union, not only participates in the events organized by other organizations, but also, during its events, places emphasis on the genocide that the Turks perpetrated against the cultural and material values of the Armenian people.
In the beginning of the Union’s event, students of Van Armenian School bowed and laid white lilies near the layout of the Armenian Genocide Memorial, after which Patriarchal Delegate of Western Europe, Vicar of Holland, Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Aren Shahinian and Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Netherlands Dzyunik Aghajanyan gave their speeches, members of the Union recited poems and sang songs, and the audience listened to the poems of Davtyan, Shiraz, Emin, Sevak and other Armenian authors. The attendees also watched a documentary film and performances of dances devoted to the Armenian Genocide by Ani Armenian Dance Group of Amsterdam.
The event was held with the participation of members of the Union representing the Kurdish and Assyrian communities in Nijmegen, Dutchmen and representatives of different nations.
At the end, the participants were treated to the traditional Afghan harisa in memory of the 1.5 million victims.
