Suren Harutyunyan scored a cup at the Caucasus Karate Cup Open. According to ArmenPress, the athletic teams and nearly 450 karateists from 12 countries of the region participated in the Caucasus Karate Cup Open held in Sochi, Russia.
Member of the Armenian Karate Federation Suren Harutyunyan also participated in the championship and won first place in the up to 45 kg category for 12-13-year olds. The refereeing was conducted under the laws of the World Karate Federation (WKF).
