Armenia sees growth of rug and knitwear production

Throughout January 2017, Armenia produced 0.4 tons of rugs and carpets.

As reported ArmenPress, citing the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, in January 2016, Armenia had produced 0.1 tons of rugs and carpets, meaning that the country has produced four times more rugs and carpets.

Throughout January 2017, Armenia produced 167.9 thousand pieces of knitwear. Compared to the same period last year, the number has grown by 48.6%. In January 2016, Armenia produced 113,000 pieces of knitwear.

At the same time, the production of hosiery has significantly declined. In January, compared to the same period last year, production fell by 85.8%. In 2017, Armenia has produced 77.2 thousand pairs, compared to 542.5 thousand pairs in January 2016.
