Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan presented efforts for Armenia-Diaspora partnership development during ambassadorial meeting
The meeting with the leadership of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Armenia’s ambassadors, as well as permanent representatives to international organizations and consul generals continued in Yerevan on 3 March.
Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Galust Sahakyan gave a speech in which he presented the steps that are being taken for the development of inter-parliamentary partnership. On the occasion of Diplomats’ Day, the Speaker of the National Assembly granted awards of the National Assembly to several representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for close cooperation with parliamentary delegations within inter-parliamentary institutions, joint initiatives and the diplomatic assistance that they have provided.
In his speech, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan presented the reforms undertaken by the Armenian government and the steps aimed at promoting investments, attaching importance to the role of the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister’s speech was followed by a substantial exchange of ideas on the expansion of the economic component of the foreign policy agenda.
Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan talked about the steps being taken to strengthen bonds with the Armenian Diaspora, the activities being carried out to ensure support to Syrian-Armenians living in Armenia and the initiatives of the Ministry of Diaspora.
Among other speakers was Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan, who presented the reforms in the defense sector, the new initiatives for army construction, the steps being taken to raise the level of ensuring of Armenia’s security, improvement of military education and the development of military-technical cooperation with other counties and answered several questions.
The participants of the meeting also visited Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
