On February 8, Ararat Armenian Cultural Organization (AACO) of Iran declared the 41^st Inter-School Games open during an event held in the presence and with the participation of nearly 1,200 attendees, 567 schoolchildren and over 100 kindergarten children.

In the beginning, the choir of the elementary section of Arax Armenian School said the Lord’s Prayer, which was followed by the anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran performed under the direction of Meghedi Nazarian. The choir also performed other songs.

The keynote speaker was president of the board of the Athletic Union Ara Jahanian.

After the sport show of the students of Tounian School, the co-ed choir of Mariam Institution performed under the direction of Gita Yaseri.

The athletes entered with grand splendor. It is necessary to mention that the opening ceremony coincided with the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of Tounian School and the 50^th anniversary of Nvard Gulbengian School.

Servin Khosrovian took the oath of the students, and Emelin Ghazarian took the oath of the arbitrator.

Mkhitar Vardin performed the Armenian song “Miasnakan Shurjpar” (Unity Round Dance0, and President of the Central Board Gevorg Vardan gave a keynote speech.

At the end, His Holiness addressed the participants with his patriarchal blessing.

The masters of ceremonies were students of the Art School, including Yeraz Bandari, Meghri Sarkhoshian, Ale Khaloian and Ani Hovhannisian.

Among the attendees were the Primate of the Diocese, the representative of the diocesan council, the representative of the Board of Education, representatives of the Assembly of Delegates, superintendents and deputy superintendents of the schools, the holy sisters of the Armenian Catholic Church, parent councils, parents, boards of unions and the friends of the Central Board of Ararat.
