New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian took the bus to work as usual
On 23 January, Gladys Berejiklian was elected Premier of New South Wales, but for her, being elected premier doesn’t mean riding in luxurious cars.
This morning, as usual, she was one of the passengers of bus #205. At 07:10, she was rushing to work as the premier, but the 46-year-old Armenian woman was escorted by neither bodyguards nor press speakers. The passengers congratulated her and wished her success, and many already knew her.
Everyone in New South Wales knows about Berejiklian’s habit of taking the bus to work. She has been taking the bus to work ever since she was appointed Minister of Transport. Her friends say taking the bus is not a formal way of maintaining ties with the people for Berejiklian since she has proved that she can maintain ties with the people throughout her longstanding career, writes Ankakh.com.
