Visa regime between Armenia and the United Arab Emirates being lifted

January 19, the Government of the Republic of Armenia gave consent to the draft on conclusion of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on Lifting the Visa Requirement for Citizens”.

It is stated that the draft decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia “On giving consent to the proposal for the conclusion of an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates on Lifting the Visa Requirement for Citizens” complies with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.

On January 12, the Government of the Republic of Armenia gave consent to the draft of the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia on establishing the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in the city of Dubai of the United Arab Emirates. The justification of the draft states that more and more progress is being made in the relations and multi-sector partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Gulf countries year after year. 

It is stated that certain trade and economic relations between those countries had started being enhanced prior to the establishment of diplomatic relations, particularly via the city of Dubai of the UAE.
