On December 25, the Saint Mesrop Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of Almelo celebrated the New Year and Christmas along with Homenetmen. The schoolchildren had prepared a beautiful play devoted to the birth of Jesus Christ and enacted the birth correctly in appropriate attire, reported Manuk Mkrtchyan to Hayern Aysor from Almelo.

Since the New Year is not a New Year without Santa Claus, the children cried out for Santa Claus, after which a person dressed as Santa Claus entered the hall, entertained the children and gave them gifts. The children sang and danced with Santa Claus throughout the evening and received gifts that they had been anticipating.

The women’s union of Homenetmen had made various types of pastries and salads that the members treated to the guests.

Everyone was happy and in a great mood during the event.
