On December 22, the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra gave a Christmas concert at Saint Joseph Church in Beirut. The concert was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Lebanon and the National Conservatory of Lebanon, reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the attendees were foreign diplomats accredited to Lebanon, current and former Members of the Parliament of Lebanon, representatives of the political, judicial and military authorities, as well as the leaders and members of Armenian religious, political and cultural organizations.
In his opening remarks, RA Ambassador to Lebanon Samvel Mkrtchyan praised the National Conservatory of Lebanon and its director Walid Musallam, as well as Maestro Harout Fazlian for their longstanding effective cooperation with the Embassy.
The Ambassador underlined the importance of the concert for the strengthening and deepening of cultural ties between Lebanon and Armenia and voiced hope that such events would be held on a regular basis in the year to come.
The concert featured performances of the works of Kamil Sen-Sans, Aram Khachaturian and Fritz Kreisler by Armenia’s talented violinist Diana Adamyan, a recipient of awards at several international festivals.
The orchestra was under the direction of principal conductor of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra Harout Fazlian.
