Armenian weightlifter Davit Hovhannisyan (77 kg category, personal coach: Rostom Khudanyan) won the U-20 tournament of the European Youth Weightlifting Championships after lifting 149 kg in the snatch drill and 177 kg in the jerk drill. After lifting 326 kg in the biathlon, he surpassed all of his opponents, reported the RA Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.

Isabella Yaylyan (58 kg) won 5^th place after lifting 190 kg in the girls’ tournament.

The championship is being held in the Israeli city of Eilat. During the U-20 tournament, Armenia was represented by Hakob Mkrtchyan (85 kg), Samvel Gasparyan (94 kg) and Siimon Martirosyan (105 kg). In the U-23 tournament, Armenia’s representatives were Razmik Oltetsyan (77 kg), Karush Ghukasyan (94 kg) and Mkrtich Mkrtchyan (105 kg), and the girls were Sona Poghosyan (75 kg) and Arpine Dalalyan (+75 kg).
