Concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Saint Gevorg Armenian Church of Argentina’s Córdoba

On November 29, the Libertador San Martin Theater of the Argentine city of Córdoba hosted the final concert dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Saint Gevorg Armenian Church (the oldest church in South America), featuring performances by the Córdoba Symphony Orchestra of , as reported the Armenian community of Argentina, according to Hayern Aysor.

The concert also featured performances by Argentine-Armenian dudukist Gagik Gasparyan and New York-Armenian singer Solange Merdinian, as well as performances of the works of renowned Armenian and Argentine composers.

Among the attendees were the deputy governor of Córdoba, representatives of the city’s authorities and clergymen.

Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina and Chile, Fr. Archbishop Kissag Mouradian gave his blessing during the concert, which was attended by pastor of the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Buenos Aires, Fr. Archimandrite Maghakia Amirian; pastor of the Saint Gevorg Armenian Church of Córdoba, Fr. Priest Harutioun Sepanian; head of the Armenian community of Córdoba Eduardo Toutounjian and members of Armenian community organizations.

In his speech, Eduardo Toutounjian touched upon the major significance of the Armenian Church in the lives of Diaspora Armenians and called on continuing the implementation of programs devoted to the preservation of the Armenian identity along with the Armenian Church.

At the end, the students of the Armenian school of Córdoba and Armenian scouts planted 90 trees in Sarmiento Park, symbolizing the 90th anniversary of the St. Gevorg Armenian Church.
