3K April displaced NKR citizens receive humanitarian assistance

The charitable Armenia Round Table Foundation of the World Council of Churches, in cooperation with the Social Service department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiatsin, provided humanitarian assistance to the victims and displaced persons of the April war in Nagorno Karabakh.

The Round Table is a member of the “ACT AllianceAction by Churches Together Alliance” network, which has a financial rapid response tool. Karine Baghdasaryan, Program Officer of the Round Table foundation, told ARMENPRESS : “Using the resources of the “ACT Alliance-Action by Churches Together Alliance” network, we were able to respond immediately, beginning from April 8. And until July 8, 3315 displaced residents of the bordering zone received approximately 50kg groceries, canned meat and fish, vegetable oil, as well as hygiene kits. These families, whom we located with great difficulty in various communities of Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia, received at least some assistance”, she said. The humanitarian assistance was distributed in cities and villages of Nagorno Karabakh – Stepanakert, Martakert, Shahumyan, Vank, Arajadzor, Mataghis and others, as well as in provinces of Armenia, were large numbers of displaced families have settled – Armavir, Kotayk, Shirak, Gugark, Syunik and others.
