Monument to Monte Melkonian unveiled in Turkey
A monument to Monte Melkonian has been erected in the Turkish city of Tunceli. This is what famous Turkish publicist Saigi Ozturk wrote in the Turkish Sezcu newspaper, reported panarmenian.net.
The publicist states that the monument was unveiled in April 2016 and features the names of Armenian national hero Monte Melkonian, Noubar Yalimyan and others on it.
It is also reported that representatives of the Armenian communities of Greece and France, as well as employees of the city council of Tunceli and members of the Kurdish Democratic Party had participating in the unveiling of the monument.
Saigi Ozturk demands that the Turkish authorities dismantle the monument to Monte Melkonian.
