Istanbul-Armenian photographer Nouran Akkaya’s“The Armenians in Turkey” photo exhibition to open in Yerevan
On November 24 at 17:00, at the initiative of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall will host the solemn opening of contemporary Istanbul-Armenian photographer Nouran Akkaya’s photo exhibition entitled “The Armenians in Turkey” and the presentation of the album “The Armenians”. RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan will also attend the event.
Earlier, at 16:40, the vestibule of the Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall will host a briefing with Nouran Akkaya and the organizers of the exhibition.
The exhibition will showcase the photos that Nouran Akkaya has taken over the past six years. The photos mainly show Istanbul-Armenians, portraits of representatives of various layers of the Armenian society, traces from Constantinople and Anatolia, the Holy Cross Church on Akhtamar Island (Van), the last Armenian village of Musa Dagh (Vakifli village), as well as Kars and Kesaria.
