On November 20, Astrakhan hosted the all-Russian Miss Armenian Beauty 2016 beauty pageant. According to News.am, this year’s beauty pageant gathered Armenian beauties from various cities across Russia who had to shine with not only their beauty, but also with their skills in singing and dancing. They also had to truly correspond to the image of an Armenian woman.

The ladies had prepared to obtain the title and gain the sympathy of the jury members and guests of honor (wrestler Mihran Harutyunyan, cosmetologist-stylist for the Russian First Channel Polina Hakobyan, singer Di Dikovsky and others) for nearly a week and had even participated in courses devoted to Armenian culture.

Based on the results, 16-year-old Margarita Avagyan became Miss Armenian Beauty 2016. Margarita said she was surprised.

“I didn’t even think I would participate,” the Armenian beauty from Kislovodsk mentioned in one of her interviews.

The Vice-Miss was Arusyak Kaghramanyan, and Elina Grigoryants won third place at the second annual beauty pageant.
