Merdinian Students’ Astounding Aptitude In Talent Search Contest
A number of our middle school students participated in the Talent Search Contest that was organized by Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. These students had scored in the 95th percentile or higher on their SAT 10 reasoning tests that the School administers in May.
Marianna Dzhuryan, currently a 7th grader as well as Andrew Manikyan, Lark Kabakian, and Raffi Karapetian, currently 8th graders performed above their grade levels, Marianna competing with 9th graders and Andrew, Lark, and Raffi competing with 12th graders nationwide. Andrew and Lark were awarded High Honors for being among the highest scoring participants in the contest, which recognizes excellence in mathematical, verbal, and spatial abilities! Andrew has scored better than 84 percent of the 12th graders in the Reading/Writing section and better than 73 percent of the 12th graders in the Math section. Lark has scored better than 79 percent of the 12th graders in the Reading/Writing section.
Congratulations to the students as well as their dedicated parents and teachers. Merdinian is proud of its students!
