Athens’s Avedis Armenian Dance Company to organize event devoted to Artsakh

Avedis Armenian Dance Company of Athens has joined the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, expressing its solidarity with Artsakh and the Armenians of Artsakh.

As reported Hayern Aysor, the dance company will be organizing a big event under the title of the movement next summer and dedicating it to Artsakh.

Avedis Armenian Dance Company was established in 2013 with the purpose of preserving the Armenian identity and national cultural values.

The dance company chose the name “Avedis” (Good Tidings) with the purpose of disseminating good tidings and setting good moods with its performances in Armenia and abroad. The dance company has 35 members and is a member of the International Dance Council of the UNESCO.

In 2016, with six female solo dancers, the dance company participated in the “My Armenia” Pan-Armenian Festival organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

The artistic director and dance instructor of the dance company is Shoushanig Semerjian, and the director is Shoushanig’s husband, Karen Hakobyan.
