Students of AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School join “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” movement

Every year, students of the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School of California spend their two-week vacation in Armenia, volunteering and sightseeing across the country. This is what the School’s Armenian language teacher, consultant of the Helping Mankind through Art Club Anna Yaralian told Hayern Aysor.

The Four-Day Artsakh War in April shocked all Armenians, including the students of the Manoogian-Demirdjian School. The members of the Helping Mankind through Art Club organized a fundraiser and sent all proceeds to the families of soldiers killed or wounded during the Four-Day Artsakh War.

During the visit to Armenia, the students visited the families of the heroes to transfer the $6,200 that they had raised during various events. These visits were touching, binding and served as life lessons for the students of the Manoogian-Demirdjian School.

The School’s administration was very excited about the fundraising program and decided to carry out a similar program under the title “Helping Syrian-Armenians” next year.

The co-chairs of the Helping Mankind through Art Club are Alexandra and Lilia Yaralian, and the vice-presidents are Elizabeth Cholakian and Natalie Momjian.
