Pope Francis has awarded the Armenian craftsman who prepared the world’s smallest miniature portrait of the Pope, sculpture of the portrait Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan Junior, grandson of Eduard TerGhazaryan, founder of micro-sculpture posted on Facebook.

“Mother See of Holy Etchmiatsin handed me a surprise gift from Pope Francis, a medal and signed photo, which are blessed by him”, he said. Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan gave the gift to Pope Francis while he was visiting Armenia on June 24, 2016. When the Pope saw his portrait through a special microscope, he was filled with joy and thanked the sculptor.
