A multitude “celebrated” Armenia in Buenos Aires. Photos

Last Saturday October 22 took place in a square of Palermo town, a new edition of “Buenos Aires Celebrates Armenia”,an event organized by the Armenian organizations of the city and the government of Buenos Aires.

Thousands of people enjoyed the Armenian cuisine, live music and traditional dances, cultural spaces, interactive games, chess games (Armenian national sport), exhibitions, screenings and Armenian coffee, among other attractions offered to spend the afternoon.

Students of Armenian schools of Buenos Aires played a mini soccer tournament and the community scout groups conducted joint tasks.

The artistic part featured a performance of one of the currently most popular young singers in Armenia, Grigor Mirzoyan; the sets of Armenian folk dances groups “Masis”, “Kaiane”, “Nairi” and “Narek”; the Armenian music band “Nor Arax”, violinist Aida Simonian and singers Arman Gasparyan, Valeria Cherekian, Patricia Minoian and Suzana Evanezian.

r Mavi, made a small stand up comedy show about the Armenians.

They were present the Secretary for Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism of the Nation, Claudio Avruj; Undersecretary for Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism of the City of Buenos Aires, Pamela Malewicz; the president of National Bank of Argentina, Carlos Melconian; the Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church for Argentina and Chile, Kissag Archbishop Mouradian; the consul of Armenia in Argentina, Ester Mkrtumyan; directors of the Armenian Center of Argentina and other Armenian institutions of Buenos Aires.
