“Van” one-day Armenian school of the Netherlands and school of Sverdlov village of Armenia become sister schools

On October 7, the “Van” one-day Armenian school of the Unified Armenians in Holland Organization of the Dutch city of Nijmegen and the school of the Sverdlov village of Lori Province of Armenia signed a memorandum to become sister schools. The signing ceremony was held as part of the Sister Schools Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora.

Among the participants of the ceremony were Head of the Division for Scientific and Educational Programs of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the RA Ministry of Diaspora Sirvard Hambaryan and Head of the Division for Relations with Armenian Communities of Western Europe of the Department of Armenian Communities of Europe Natalie Danielyan.

Sirvard Hambaryan transmitted the congratulatory remarks of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, stating that over 50 Armenian schools have been cooperating in this format for several years now.

Among other speakers were the schools’ principals Armen Ghukasyan and Sveta Abrahamyan. Expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Diaspora, they assured that their relations and cooperation would be aimed at increasing the level of effectiveness of the learning processes, programs for preservation of the Armenian identity, Armenian education and upbringing in Armenian schools in the Homeland and abroad.

Former teacher of the school of Sverdlov village Sveta Abrahamyan donated school accessories to the pre-school, as well as the educational and disciplinary materials of famous pedagogue, psychologist and philosopher Maria Montessor, didactic games and accessories that will contribute to the literacy development of children and help them get to know the world.

On behalf of the Unified Armenians in Holland Organization and a group of parents of children attending the “Van” one-day Armenian school, Sveta Abrahamyan transferred AMD 400,000 for the school of Sverdlov village to carry out activities that need to be carried out urgently.
