The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has stated that the Russian Federation might support the transfer of Syrian-Armenians to Armenia. As reported Russia Today, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova addressed the issue during a briefing.

When asked if Russia is ready to assist Armenia in the transfer of representatives of the Armenian community of Syria to their historic homeland, Zakharova said the following: “If there is official information and if there are letters from Armenians residing in the territory of Syria wishing to move to Armenia, they must inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the relevant bodies in an appropriate manner. If Armenia accepts those letters, it must also, in an appropriate manner, address this or that party that can provide such assistance. This is an absolutely normal procedure.”
