The bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial will be discussed in the Upper House (Senate) of the French Parliament next week, CoChairman of the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations of France Murad Papazian told “Armenpress”.

“According to the preliminary data, October 11 or 12 are scheduled. The bill is quite extensive, and the provision on criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial will be most likely discussed early next week”, he said. Referring to the MPs’ attitude on that issue, Papazian said it is difficult to say anything. “In any case we carry out consistent work with the MPs, we expect successful period”, Murad Papazian said. He expressed hope the Senate will adopt the option of the bill which has been passed in the Parliament in June.
