Concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence held at Mother Cathedral in Brussels

A concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence was held at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula in Brussels, featuring performances of psalms and the works of Armenian and foreign composers by Tigran Hekekyan’s Little Singers of Armenia children’s choir. The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Belgium, in partnership with the Armenian Apostolic Church of Belgium, the Gyoumoushchyan Foundation, AGBU Europe and the “Armenian Home” Cultural Center of Brussels, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.

In his welcoming speech, Head of the Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union, RA Ambassador to Belgium Tatul Margaryan highly appreciated the brilliant performances of the choir and particularly stated that what was symbolic was the fact that the members of the Little Singers of Armenia children’s choir, who are part of the generation of independence, were glorifying the independence of Armenia with the performances of their songs today.

Among the more than 700 participants of the event were officials and representatives of public circles of the European Union and Belgium, artists and cultural figures, leaders of Armenian community and ecclesiastical structures and members of the Belgian-Armenian community.

In the evening, the choir also performed a flash-mob dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia at Gran Plaz Square in central Brussels, making the locals and tourists feel excited.
