The athletes of Akhalkalak returned from the 48^th Pan-Armenian Games with three bronze medals and one silver medal.

From September 13 to 20, Tehran hosted the 48^th Pan-Armenian Athletic Games, which gathered athletes from Armenia, Artsakh, Lebanon and Javakhk, as reported jnews.ge.

“We were invited by Ararat Cultural Organization, We were participating in teams, including the tennis team (4 members), the swimming team (3 members) and the chess team (3 members). Overall, the delegation of Javakhk comprised 15 members,” Head of the Division for Culture, Sports, Education, Tourism and Youth Affairs of the Regional Department of Akhalkalak Valery Stelmashov said.

Rafo Gurjanyan won 3^rd place in the adult chess tournament, Vladimir Chakhalyan received the bronze medal in the children’s chess tournament, and Davit Chakhalyan received the silver medal. Shota Khanoyan won the third prize in the swimming tournament.

“We didn’t receive an award in the tennis competition since both the adults and the children were competing together, and it so happened that the adults won the children, and our athletes were among the members of the small age group,” Valery Stelmashov said.
